Schreiner ProTech, a global developer and manufacturer for the automotive and engineering industries, has installed an intricate six-ton punch press into its new Pressure Compensation Seals Process Center.

The addition of the punch press to Schreiner’s new Pressure Compensation Seals Process Center will diminish reassembly errors and expedite time to full operation.
Notably, the installation was performed in one piece, which involved lifting the cumbersome machinery three stories in the air and placing it into its new home. This all-in-one-piece approach eliminated the possibility of errors in the disassembly and reassembly process. It also expedited the equipment’s time to operation.
Moving forward, Schreiner ProTech’s new Pressure Compensation Seals (PCS) Process Center will centralize the company’s PCS production, handling all production-related duties from initial materials reception to final pressure compensation seal manufacturing.
A key consideration in the new facility’s establishment was compliance with current and future technical cleanliness requirements, particularly those enforced in the automotive and electronics industries.
The high-precision punch is used for exclusive, customized products, such as Schreiner ProTech’s PCS HighProtect and nameplate-integrated PCS applications. The infrastructure was specifically developed and purchased for the purpose of complying with the exacting tolerances and requirements of the automotive industry for these types of complex, multilayered products.
Additionally, by providing more room and improved layout for extensive functional inbound goods inspections, in-process inspections, and automated finished parts inspections. the PCS Process Center will help Schreiner ProTech further enhance its already high quality standards. The continuation of short throughput times, and the use of advanced manufacturing technologies that enhance product reliability, round out the Process Center’s benefits set.
