A construction screw with Dörken MKS lubricant heats up to only 80° C, thanks to the low clamping pressure and low thread-forming torque.
To prevent thread-rolling screws from corroding, Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co now offers an advanced coating system. The new lubrication provides a high level of corrosion protection and simultaneously enables a smooth fastening.
The product consists of a zinc flake basecoat and the DELTA-LUBE 50 lubricant. The basecoat determines the corrosion characteristics and ensures cathodic corrosion protection. The colorless lubricant increases the corrosion protection offered and influences both the coefficients of friction and thread-forming torque.
Test results show that the coating system fulfills a high level of the corrosion-protection requirements.
The coating demonstrated that it:
- Tapped into aluminum more than 3,000 hours without any red rust
- Tapped into steel more than 1,000 hours (salt spray test according to ISO 9227).
The system also achieves low levels of thread forming torque, enabling thread-rolling screws to be used reliably. If the screw needs to be coated in color, it is necessary to apply a topcoat before the lubricant.
Dörken MKS’ surface protection is available globally and meets high-quality standards.
