The slotted tension pin is a versatile and economical fastener that is used in a wide array of applications across diverse industries including medical, small arms, OEM, electronics, automotive, agriculture, mining, hydraulic, HVAC, and more. These all-purpose non-threaded fasteners can be used in stampings, castings, forgings, sintered metals, hard rubber, and plastics.
Their unique, self-locking quality simplifies design and reduces assembly and production costs since they can be installed in a single operation, either manually with a hammer and drift, or with a high-speed automatic feed.
From stock sizes to myriad customizations, slotted pins can fulfill the most demanding applications — and now they’re even more accessible and easier to order than before.
To meet increasing customer demand and keep your production lines moving, Vogelsang Fastener Solutions has expanded its inventory of slotted pins and increased its manufacturing capacity by adding another shift at its Kentucky facility for inch pins.
The company has also taken strategic measures to minimize issues that can arise from shortages of raw materials, performing in-house slitting and profiling to maximize the production capacity of a master coil. It’s further expanded its in-house capabilities to include grinding and sorting to produce extremely tight tolerances to exacting standards.
Pins are meticulously heat-treated and formed with precision. Metric pins are made using a punch press process so grain direction greatly enhances the strength of the pin. In addition, all of the pins are fully traceable to the raw material via a lot number that can be traced directly back to the source and pour.
Along with standard stock sizes, Volgelsang has expanded its selection of pins, offering additional lengths, materials, and finishes — including customized options. Learn more here.
