Fastener Training Week — an advanced technical training program for fastener distributors, manufacturers, end users, and OEMs — is scheduled for December 2nd to 6th, in La Miranda, California. The course is offered by The Fastener Training Institute, a non-profit organization that provides training on fastener products and standards, in partnership with the Industrial Fasteners Institute.
Instead of seven separate one-day classes, Fastener Training Week offers five intensive days of education and plant tours, as part of the acclaimed FTI Certified Fastener Specialist (CFS) advanced technical training program. After completion of the training session and final exam, attendees are eligible for the Certified Fastener Specialist (CFS) designation.
This year’s Fastener Training Week will feature learning labs, interactive exercises, and quizzes to reinforce learning taught by leading industry experts, including:
- Salim Brahimi, IFI Director of Engineering Technology
- Laurence Claus, NNi Training and Consulting
- Carmen Vertullo, AIM Testing Laboratory
Expect small class sizes and timely topics, such as manufacturing processes, consensus standards, and quality control. Participants will also experience plant tours at manufacturing, secondary processes, and testing facilities — including at B & B Specialties, The Lab, R & D Fasteners, and ND Industries.
Given the advanced technical nature of this program, it is highly recommended that participants have at least two years of experience in fastener sales, purchasing, and manufacturing or quality assurance.
Registration includes three full days and two half days of training, educational materials, continental breakfast and lunch, transportation for plant tours, certification of completion, and Eligibility for the Certified Fastener Specialist designation.
