Bostik, a manufacturer of adhesive and sealing products, is expanding its offerings of high-performance adhesives in the United States with the planned acquisition of Edge Adhesives in Texas.
Edge Adhesives is a developer and manufacturer of rubber-based adhesive sealing products with extensive capabilities in butyl and block copolymer technologies.
In business since 1980, the company has expanded into multiple markets and locations, with headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.
Bostik is a part of Arkema, which offers a portfolio of first-class technologies to address the ever-growing demand for new and sustainable materials. The new acquisition is in line with Arkema’s strategy of bolt-on acquisitions to develop greater breadth in adhesives and deliver new products to meet demands.
Edge Adhesives is a complementary asset for Bostik in hot-melt adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes for residential construction, with annual sales of about U.S. $12 million. In addition to delivering strong technological, industrial, and commercial synergies, the acquisition will enable Bostik to offer its customers an extended range of value-added and sustainable solutions in hot-melt pressure sensitive adhesives.
In particular, Edge Adhesives specializes in custom formulations in fast-growing easy-install window, door and roofing applications.
This bolt-on acquisition is in line with Bostik’s growth strategy in high value-added adhesives and expands its presence in North America.
