Vertellus, a global supplier of high-performance solutions, will be showcasing several of its adhesives and sealant solutions for medical devices at MD&M West in Anaheim, California. The event takes place April 12-14 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Vertellus will be located at Booth 1289, displaying its range of Citroflex B6 phthalate-free plasticizers, Biothane adhesives and sealants, as well as its PC Technology-powered hemocompatible surface coatings.
“At MD&M Expo West, our team of experts will be available to discuss our innovative and diverse range of products and their vast array of sector applications, as well as partnership opportunities to build unique, custom solutions that meet the precise needs of our medical device customers,” said Neelam Kumar, strategic segment manager – Medical at Vertellus.
Citroflex B6, a phthalate-free plasticizer specially formulated for PVC in blood transfusion products, offers an excellent alternative to DEHP with a comprehensive and clean toxicological profile. Included in the European Pharmacopoeia and field-tested for more than 20 years by the world’s leading blood bag manufacturers, Citroflex B6 provides the preferred path to compliance with the REACH mandate of eliminating DEHP in blood transfusion products.
Vertellus’ portfolio of Biothane systems include its Polycin polyols and Vorite prepolymer components. When combined, the components become high-performance adhesive and sealant systems that can be designed and paired for applications with critical performance specifications, such as hardness, rheology, and gel time.
These optimizable systems are in use worldwide to improve adhesive utilization and streamline production for a variety of medical devices such as catheters, dialyzers, oxygenators, and specialty hollow fiber-membrane bioreactors.
PC Technology, a clinically-proven, hemocompatible and truly multifunctional surface technology, is built upon the human body’s own chemistry, allowing medical devices to blend seamlessly at the interface of device and human tissue.
PC Technology-coated device surfaces prevent bacteria buildup, are resistant to biofilm formation, and prevent thrombosis. This stable and durable surface technology has been successfully deployed by a number of leading medical device manufacturers in the areas of cardiology, pulmonology, otology and urology, among others.
“We look forward to sharing our high-quality specialty solutions for medical device manufacturers, as well as our deep regulatory and compliance expertise, at this prestigious gathering of industry leaders,” added Kumar.
