A new welding manual from OHIO Nut & Bolt Company, a division of Buckeye Fasteners, offers the company’s most up-to-date information on welding projection and spot weld fasteners. So, if you’ve been having issues with resistance spot or projection welding fasteners to sheet metal, this is the document for you.

In fact, the information represents 75 years of research, experience, knowledge, and experimental development work.

The Welding Manual for Engineering Fastener Foundations includes the recommended setups for all OHIO standard weld screws and weld nuts welded to materials .025 to .179 inches thick.

There’s also a section that explains how to properly set up a press welder, with several additional sections on electrodes, projection welding characteristics, heat balance, and a chart giving recommendations for eliminating faulty welds.

Additionally, there’s insight on:

  • The importance of proper projection design
  • Welding set-up options
  • Recognizing and eliminating faulty welds
  • Electrode tips and an electrode pressure chart
  • Common troubleshooting and much more

OHIO products have the consistency that’s important to successful resistance welding. The company also supplies welders, feeders, and training to ensure that the fasteners don’t fall off an application.

T. J. Snow Company, a provider of resistance welding machinery, parts, and repairs, is also now working closely with OHIO and Buckeye Fasteners to ensure top products, services, and support.
