Servometer® / PMG, LLC miniature, flexible, gold plated bellows contact springs insure reliable electrical continuity in applications where tolerance buildup, vibration, and thermal expansion become a problem with lifetime spring and force repeatability. Their spring flexibility allows them to minimize shock and vibration in dynamic applications.
Due to their very low spring-rates, force requirements of .04 oz. (1.13 Gms) per .001 inch of travel are available. This allows designs to be made where contact with a delicate component or material is required.
Manufactured in diameters from .020 inch (.5 mm) to .245 inch (6.2 mm) from electrodeposited nickel alloy, and gold plated to ASTM B 488-01 to enhance their conductivity, these bellows contact springs have extremely low DC resistance with a minimum of insertion loss, and are non-permeable to dust, dirt or moisture due to their non-porous, seamless design.
Because Servometer bellows are made by electrodepositon and can be made from Nickel, Copper, Gold or Silver for maximum performance, their conductivity at high frequencies from the Giga-Hertz range and up is superior to similar sized spring loaded test pins. They have a low loss of only .20 dB (shorter) to 45 dB (longer) at 6 GHz with a total bandwidth much higher.
Available from stock and rated for a maximum current of 4 amps, Servometer contacts can be safely used up to 260° F and maintain their full spring qualities. There is no low temperature limit. Servometer bellows are presently operating at temperature of -423° F below zero.
