Mid-West Fastener Association hosting FSTNR Week this August

By Michelle Froese | July 18, 2022

The Mid-West Fastener Association (MWFA) is hosting this year’s FSTNR Week August 22nd to August 26th at Oak Brook Hills Resort in Oak Brook, IL. The conference hotel is only 15 miles from O’Hare International Airport. This event offers a week of opportunities for the fastener industry, with plenty of opportunities to network.

Click here for more event information.

The week will kick off on Sunday, August 21st with a charitable event. The MWFA is proud to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), which works with groups/communities to build beds for kids who don’t have their own. SHP is 100% volunteer-driven and donation-driven.

MWFA is inviting the fastener industry to donate to cover the cost of building beds and come help us build the beds. No special skills are required and there will be something for everyone.

MWFA’s 40th Fastener Show will take place on August 23rd as a Table Top Show. Fastener suppliers are invited to showcase their products and services. The event will feature suppliers, secondary services, heat-treating and plating, education, and more. It will take place at the Hilton Oak Brook Hills Resort from 1 to 6 p.m. Set-up time is from 9-11 a.m., with lunch at 12noon. Exhibit registration must be submitted by July 31st.

Additionally, the Safeguards for Buying Import or Domestic Manufactured Fasteners Seminar, will be held on August 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the opening of the Fastener Show. This seminar will guide fastener personnel with a checklist of potential pitfalls and a list of questions to identify and ask prior to ordering special parts. Its focus will be on avoiding costly mistakes in product error.

The class will be taught by Richard Pease, who before owning his own company R.K. Precision Products, worked for domestic cold header manufacturers, and various Industrial Fastener Distributors. He has more than 35 years of product experience, purchasing, and sales in the fastener industry. He has been instrumental in coordinating MWFA education programs for many years.

There will also be a Fastener Bash on the evening of August 23rd.
