Toggle latches are proven, universal devices for fast and secure closing of covers and hoods. Standard parts specialist, JW Winco, now offers an ideal solution for applications in the medium-weight range, thanks to the launch of its GN 761.
Made of zinc-plated steel or stainless steel, the new devices are supplied with a loop-shaped or T-shaped latch bolt. The GN 761 toggle latches close the gap between the heavy and light-duty designs, and are designed with holding forces of 225 lbf (1000 N), 450 lbf (2000 N), and 674 lbf (3000 N).
Wherever flaps, lids, covers, or hoods must be closed quickly, easily, and reliably, these reliable clamps make anideal choice. They can even be secured with padlocks. The thread on the latch bolt allows for simple adjustment of the travel distance to ensure precise actuation of the lever.
Available with two latch bolt types — the T-hole and loop — JW Winco also offers other custom-design options in terms of the dimensions, shapes, and features. For example, the latch bolts could be fitted with an integrated spring to compensate for tolerances. Also, elastomer inserts could be used in situations where the latch bolt and the catch do not line up.
Additionally, for the GN 761.1, the safety hook integrates into the body and automatically latches into the actuating lever at the end of the closing movement. This ensures that the toggle clamp remains closed and will not open accidentally. The clamp can only be opened after unlocking the safety hook, which can be done with a single hand for user-friendly operation.
