Plymouth, Minnesota—The new model ETP-Octopus(TM) hydraulic shaft locking bushings are ideal for simultaneous, quick locking and accurate positioning of sliding shafts and components in automated systems such as machine tools, extruders and packaging systems.
By providing uniform and repeatable locking pressure, these ETP-Octopus bushings can be set up for fast and frequent locking/unlocking of linear slides or similar motion devices at one position or series of positions from a remote switching location. Ruggedly designed for long operation, these ETP-Octopus bushings are available with either aluma-bronze or steel sleeve bores for smooth, long-life operation.
The ETP-Octopus is designed as a better alternative to most shaft locking devices. Its unique hydraulic locking design and positioning flexibility make it superior to other locking mechanisms where torque transmission with no axial movement of the shaft mounted components is required.
Additional ETP-Octopus benefits include: compact design for tight mounting; excellent runout; frequent locking/unlocking and wide temperature variations.
Available in three models with pressure ranges to 6500 psi:
—Model C with bores from 30mm to100mm and where transmitted torque and axial force and a
torsional stiff design are required.
—Model O with bores from 10mm to 100mm and where transmitted axial and radial forces are
required.
—Model F with bores from 10mm to 100mm and where transmitted axial and radial forces are
required.
