Groov-Pin has been recognized for its accomplishments in corporate wellness for the fourth year in a row. Its employee wellness program, called GP Fit, has become part of its culture, addressing all aspects of health — including physical, mental, social, and financial.
“We want employees to feel empowered to take steps to make healthy, long-lasting changes in their lives,” states a company press release.
Groov-Pin is a manufacturer of grooved pins, threaded inserts, and precision turned components, offering superior properties of engineered fasteners and components for connection and control. It has been serving the manufacturing industry for more than 95 years, with parts used in various industries including automotive, aerospace and defense, and telecommunications, die casting, medical, and more.
It credits much of its success to its investment in employees. The company’s Walk to Wellness challenges are some of its more popular health initiatives. It develops themes, goals, and prizes for each walk. Groov-Pin has also chosen to focus on the larger community by creating walking challenges that will benefit local organizations.
For example, in 2021, it hosted a walking challenge that resulted in employees surpassing the challenge goal and raising $500 for Crossroads Rhode Island’s Domestic Violence program.
