The Fastener Training Institute (FTI), the nonprofit provider of fastener training opportunities, and Optimas Solutions, a fastening and supply chain solution provider, have announced a free webinar on Friday, May 1st, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PT.

Visit the Fastener Training Institute’s website for more details and webinar registration.
Webinar “Fastener Failures – Case Studies” will cover three real-world examples of common fastener failures. It will be taught by Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) expert educators Salim Brahimi, Director of Engineering & Technology, and Laurence Claus, Director of Training, and co-produced by the IFI.
The 90-minute webinar from FTI’s popular Fastener Training Week is offered for free thanks to Optimas’ sponsorship.
During the global COVID-19 pandemic, Fastener Training Institute is committed to continuing education for the fastener community through its Online Learning Library, scheduled monthly webinars and special new offerings such as this.
“Optimas is proud to be a sponsor of this event and delighted to throw our support to FTI, an organization we strongly believe in. We have not been active in supporting fastener industry organizations historically, so we are pleased that one of our first acts is to support this initiative,” said Marc Strandquist, President of the Americas, Optimas Solutions.
“The generous support of Optimas allows us to offer this new webinar and supports our ongoing operations. It’s partnerships like these that make me proud to be in this industry,” said John Wachman, Managing Director, Fastener Training Institute.
The webinar is geared toward fastener industry professionals as well as end users and is vital for employees working in product specifications, product engineering, applications engineering, technical sales and fastener testing. In addition to case studies covering overload, fatigue, and hydrogen embrittlement, the presentation will focus on using sound methodology and appropriate techniques for failure analysis. A live Q&A session will follow and the webinar will be added to FTI’s Online Learning Library.
