Epoxy System Resists Chemicals

By Design World Staff | December 28, 2010

The EP21ARHT two-component epoxy resist chemicals, fuels, and acids. It can be used to coat and line storage tanks, piping, scrubbers, and processing equipment. It can withstand immersion to 96-98% sulfuric acid and 20% hydrochloric acid for more than a year. It cures at room temperature with minimal shrinkage, or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Once fully cured, it produces a bond strength greater than 2,200 psi. It can be thermally cycled over a temperature range of -60º F to +400º F. It has a dielectric strength of 440 volts/mil and a low coefficient of thermal expansion of 40-45×10-6 in./in./ºC. It bonds well to metals, ceramics, glass and many plastics.
