U.S. manufacturer, Dymax, is extending its distribution partnership with Biesterfeld for light-curing adhesives, casting compounds, and conformal coatings, primarily used in medical technology, industry, and electronics.
Dymax is a global manufacturer of advanced light-curable adhesives, coatings, light-curing equipment, and fluid dispensing systems. Biesterfeld AG is the strategic holding of the Biesterfeld group of companies, a distributor for plastics and chemicals.
The portfolio includes temporary maskants, which are characterized by rapid curing under UV light. They’re ideal for masking electronic components prior to protective coating or soldering to protect them from damage. Maskants are also used for surface preparation in the aviation industry, metal processing and medical technology (for example in orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments).
Light-curing adhesives also form part of the portfolio. Particularly suitable for bonding plastics and metals, these products have a dual-curing mechanism: the adhesive cures in seconds under UV light and offers the possibility of secondary moisture curing for shadow areas.
The portfolio is rounded off by adhesives that are specially formulated for disposable medical products, which enable the fixation of needles in syringes, the production of catheters or wearables, which are used for continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels.
