Bulten AB, a supplier of fasteners to the international automotive industry, has acquired new emitted shares in TensionCam Systems AB. TensionCam specializes in the development of sensors for clamp-force monitoring in screw joints.
Bulten’s product range includes customer-specific standard products and customized fasteners. The company also provides full-service technical development, line-feeding, logistics, material and production expertise.
“We are very excited about the strengthened collaboration with such a renowned company as Bulten. To establish this type of industrial collaboration is an important part of our strategy to successfully continue the commercialization of the TensionCam concept ”, says Jonas Nilsagård, CEO at TensionCam Systems AB.
After the acquisition is finalized, Bulten will own 27% of TensionCam’s shares — therefore, Bulten and TensionCam will strengthen their cooperation in the development of wireless clamp-force monitoring of screw joints.
Sufficient clamp load is the critical parameter for a well-working bolt joint in all industrial environments. Without clamp load the risks are severe for failure, leakages, break down, or human injuries.
“The acquisition of shares in TensionCam is in line with our strategy to further strengthen our position as technology leader in fasteners”, says Anders Nyström, CEO at Bulten AB. “With the TensionCam concept we will be able to strengthen our offerings in fastener functionality and service also in segments outside automotive.”
