Avery Dennison Performance Tapes has announced a new automotive electronics portfolio for OEMs and suppliers. OEMs and tier suppliers are often challenged to create electronics systems that are easy to assemble, lightweight, and durable. These systems also need to perform flawlessly throughout a vehicle’s life and across a wide range of environmental conditions.
“As the automotive industry continues to transition to electric and autonomous vehicles, numerous applications are required to help implement new technologies,” said Scott Krusinski, product manager — automotive & other transportation at Avery Dennison. “Adhesion of printed and flexible electronics are needed for many automotive applications across the vehicle’s interior, exterior, and powertrain.”
The new portfolio aligns with the broader automotive electrification trend to make cars safer, more efficient, and connected, providing drivers with a better overall experience.
The automotive electronics portfolio features more than 20 pressure-sensitive adhesive products for 12 applications. The portfolio offers solutions that are integrated into the components used on the interior and exterior of vehicles for applications, including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), user experience, lighting, and safety.
The interior applications include…
Wire harness securement, electronic mirror mounting, display mounting, seating detection sensor bonding, PTC heater bonding, seat-heater bonding, and steering wheel detection sensor bonding.
The exterior applications include…
Gasket bonding, PTC heater bonding, vent bonding, sensor mounting, and glare reduction.
Avery Dennison Automotive Electronics Portfolio addresses challenges related to assembly, durability, and sensing accuracy for several applications.
