Arkema, a multi-national manufacturer of specialty materials, is launching one of the most complete and integrated offerings on the market for pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The broad product range combines Arkema’s technological expertise in the adhesives market, strengthened by the recent acquisition of Ashland Performance Adhesives, and the most advanced acrylic value chain solutions.
In a market growing at an estimated 4–6% p.a., the produces will be produced under the Bostik brand. They’ll provide customers with unique access to the most sustainable, high-performance solutions for the pressure-sensitive adhesives sector — and for a variety of demanding applications such as tapes, labels, and specialty films.
“Through strategic acquisitions and organic growth, we are building the strongest and most reliable offering, expertise and customer support to the fast-growing pressure-sensitive adhesives market worldwide,” said Tim Pione, VP, Advanced Packaging and Converting, Adhesives at Arkema. “Committed to this industry, we will partner across the value chain to advance innovation, address global mega-trends, and explore ways to offer customers new, more sustainable solutions.”
The new global offering:
- Provides pressure-sensitive adhesives solutions, spanning all of the predominate technologies in the industry — including hot-melt, waterborne, UV, and specialty solution acrylics.
- Leverages market knowledge for adhesives, as well as Arkema’s approach to materials science and expertise from its integrated specialty monomers, resins, and additives businesses. This is supported by an extensive global manufacturing footprint and strong R&D capabilities across the globe.
- Showcases sustainability, which includes R&D in renewable products, a bio-acrylics value chain, recyclability solutions, and low-volatile organic compound technologies.
