Women of the Fastener Industry (WIFI) — which provides opportunities for women at all levels of experience in the fastener industry to connect, network, and learn — has announced its annual Fastener Fair scholarship.
This special scholarship allows one lucky WIFI member the opportunity to attend this year’s Fastener Fair USA in Nashville, TN, from May 16th to 17th.
This scholarship is in honor of the memory of Margaret Davis, who began her career in the fastener industry at Kansas City Nut & Bolt in the ’60s, where she met her husband, Joe L. Davis Jr. Together, the duo launched ISSCO, Inc. in April of 1974, a wholesale fastener distributor that is still in business today.
Davis served as the Secretary-Treasurer for more than 26 years. She was the matriarch of the family business, and truly enjoyed working with her husband and eventually her two sons, David and Jake Davis.
Applications for the Margaret Davis scholarship are open until April 5th, 2023. Travel, accommodations, and entrance to the Fastener Fair will be provided. The recipient will also gain experience working at the WIFI show booth.
