Advance Components, a distributor of specialty fastening products, released a letter to its customers this week in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. According to the company, it is deemed an essential, critical, and life-sustaining business under all state and federal standards.
“Please be advised, all our operations will remain open and we will continue to ship to our customers who are supplying, producing, or distributing to many of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors,” says the letter.
This is in accordance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Presidential Policy Directive 21, PPD-21:“whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof.”
These sectors include medical products, communications, critical manufacturing, energy, food and agriculture, information technology, transportation systems and water/wastewater systems, and others.
To ensure the health and safety, the Advance Components’ team has made several changes to our daily operations. The company says that all Advance team members who can work remote are currently doing so. The remaining team members in the warehouse are enforcing strict social distancing and maintaining a routine schedule for disinfecting all common work surfaces.
In these uncertain times, maintaining a steady supply chain is more important than ever.
