Learn more about TC bolts and INF3013 here.
Infasco‘s INF3013 is a unique coating system that’s applied to tension-control (TC) bolts (and hex structural bolts), providing several benefits compared to black bolts. Additionally, INF3013 far surpasses the performance of mechanically galvanized coatings.
In fact, it’s achieved extended corrosion resistance of 1,000 hours of salt spray, which is at least twice that of a mechanically galvanized coating. INF3013 also cannot generate hydrogen embrittlement, which is a major benefit.
INF3013 can be applied to F1853 (A325) and is the only coating that works with F2280 (A490). It also offers good short-term protection to allow TC bolts to be inserted into structural connections and tightened at a later date without the presence of corrosive properties, which typically would affect the pre-load.
This coating also provides a targeted and repeatable preload that’s more uniform than that which is typically achieved with black bolt or mechanical galvanize. And similar preloads are achieved whether the bolts are wet or dry. INF3013 also accepts paint.
What’s more: the thin-film thickness allows the shear tip of the TC bolt to fit standard shear wrench sockets and allows for coating of nuts after tapping. The lubricant is integral to the coating system and is embedded into the topcoat of the coating that’s provided for more uniform frictional properties. This lubricant is unlike wax or oil that can vary from fastener to fastener.
Overall, this coating system allows for extremely long period of corrosion resistance and is also ideal for short-term corrosion protection.
